Not sure what facts lead you to think this way. Amenity fee increases for existing residents are capped each year to CPI with a not to exceed % ... Don't recall right now if that was 3% or 5%.
I found the reference to latest "prevailing" rate ... march Amenity Authority Committee meeting minutes:
"Ms. Tutt addressed an e-mail that was forwarded to the Board advising the Developer’s prevailing rate would increase from $135 to $145 effective April 1, 2012. This increase will not impact current residents but will only be applied to new home sales and re-sales. "
Anyway, fee increases are inevitable, but, protections are in place to ensure that they will not be astronomical. All in all, it's a pretty reasonable fee for what you get. I know many condo owners who pay $500+ monthly for HOA fees.
