There is a murder case in Florida, in Brevard County, that I'm wondering if anyone else has followed. I wonder why this case hasn't been a campaign for those who took up the Trayvon Martin cause. Not to demean Martin by any stretch. Just trying to understand why one case can become a cause and another, which is just as tragic and sad, isn't mentioned.

"Friends and family huddled alongside crime scene tape in south Melbourne early Thursday wondering who would kill a man known as 'Peanut.'

"Police, responding to a report of gunshots being fired about 5 a.m., found Henry Lee Montgomery, 48, dead at his home in the 2800 block of Colbert Circle, according to Sgt. Trevor Shaffer, a spokesman for Melbourne Police Department.

“ 'He would help anybody,' Montgomery’s brother, Cliff Cain, said. 'For somebody to mess with him over like that … Most anybody around here, he had helped.'

"The fatal incident came after a series of shootings nearby. There have been at least three other shootings, which wounded two people, in the area since April 7.

"The Powell Subdivision Neighborhood Watch, which had a regular meeting Thursday night, discussed the topic with local police.

"Melbourne and Palm Bay police officers reported good news: They had identified the juveniles responsible for the three earlier shootings. However, the victims did not want to prosecute and there wasn't much more police could do in those cases...."
