the root of this problem for students started when the govt got into the student loan business...tuition suddenly started a steep upward climb which continues to this day...of course, if the govt is paying....whether health care, tuition, subsidized rents, anything where uncle sam starts to pay the bill instead of a real live individual, the bill goes up! colleges and universities have to tighten their belts, just like the rest of us!
