Default War On Women, Women Shot By Friendly Fire

Romney's perceived weakness among women becomes Democrats "War On Women" by Republicans.

Consider: Most major institutions and laws were developed when the country had one wage earners. In 1950 12% of women withc hildren under age six worked, today it is 60%.

Consider a major barrier for working women (families) is the marriage penalty along with child care costs because the tax code is punative as to dual incomes, and that the end of Bush tax cuts exacerbate this problem. Romney is proposing flatter tax code which will offer millions more women "greater choice" and more economic freedom.

Consider the 1938 Fair Labor Standard Act requires workers to complete 40 hours of work before they can earn overtime.. While 81% want overtime they either need or want more flex time to manage work and family issues. However the Democrats fought such changes. Obama's unions oppose any reforms of the 40 hour work week because the status quo gives them complete control in crafting work arrangements.

Consider in 1990 Democrats blocked Republican efforts to let workers negotiate directly with employers their ability to arrange their work schedules.

Consider Social Security is generous to women who lose their husbands or never worked but offer meager aditional benefits for women who have worked their entire lives.

Consider that union driven pensions that reward long service rarely benefit women who move in and out of the workforce

Consider that Obama signed the Lilly Leadbetter Act purporting to eliminate wage discrimination will actually be a litigation bonanza for another of Obama's favorite group trial lawyers (my opinion not WSJ)
