Bucco: The reason AARP supported Obama and his Health Care Plan was because Medicare Advantage is AARP HealthCare competitor and hence AARP wanted them shut down. I was part of the Insurance Industry and had occassion to work both the property/casualty and health/life sides.

The insurance industry also supported ObamaCare primarily because it would require everyone to opt in. Secondly with government backing pricing was more predictable and hence profits higher.
