I am almost a Villager and have a pet of my own. I read, with interest, the goings on regarding the schnauzer with dehydration (poor thing). One thing that bothered/s me is that anyone can get what I would consider PERSONAL information on another client in the same vet office. My current vet would no more disclose my dogs condition than my physician would MY condition. To see that this confidentiallity is so readily breeched is disturbing at best; unethical at worst. HIPAA does not pertain to animals but there should be some kind of boundary in place for protection of the animal and the owner. This actually supercedes cleanliness and compassion. TRUST is crucial. How can that breech be trusted?
