If your adult child lives in your home in the Villages he has the same "perks" as any other Village resident. If he lives outside the Villages but in Sumter County he is welcome to use all the public areas, shop at our stores, eat at our restaurants, take a ride on Lake Sumter. He is not entitled to our rec centers and clubs and golf courses and pools. However, there is available an "In-area guest ID" for situations such as yours. I don't know the specifics and I can't find the on districtgov.org but it seems that this acts like an out of area guest ID but is good for one year. The in area guest must be accompanied by the Villager and there may be some facilities where it is not valid. That information is on page 4 of the weekly Rec News under guest guidelines. On the website there is circular advise suggesting that the details are available on the website or in the phone book. Can't find it.
If you call your local Regional Rec Center they should have the information.
