Default even more than these are available for your listening pleasure

Ohioboy is a musician. He is also in a band called "Celebration Brass Band" which is an all brass and percussion band (British style brass band) that plays symphonic, marches, hymns, and pop - usually 2 concerts every year, November and April - finished for this year, but their next concert is scheduled for November 9th at Laurel Manor.

He's also in a German band that plays for fun and for club gigs, and stuff like Oktoberfest. The name is something German that I can't remember. Used to be led by Dutch Schultz, a Villager who was killed tragically with his wife in a car accident a couple of months ago in Polk County. Dutch was a very active musician in The Villages (played tuba) and also a singer in The Village Voices. He is missed greatly.

His latest venture is as a trumpet player in "The Savoys," which has their first open-to-the-public gig this coming Thursday, May 3rd, at Pimlico Rec Center from 6:30-8:30. Tickets are $4.00, supposed to be available at all rec centers (but I haven't checked that). There will be room for dancing.

They play Big Band stuff, plus some pop tunes (think Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and maybe Proud Mary). They have a great vocalist (lives in Tampa) and feature some very good musicians. If I have this right, there are 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, 3 saxes, a drummer, keyboard player, and bass player, plus the vocalist.

Guess this warrants a 2nd posting. Look for some publicity in the paper this week.
