If you don't mind spending the money, there's no harm in giving it a try. However, I've been managing my weight all of my life without the benefit of any such technology. Well, I do occasionally check my weight with a digital scale. But I can't imagine why anyone would need the device you mentioned. If you're having a hard time losing weight, it's going to tell you what you already know.
You're taking in too many calories for your level of activity.
