True lost key story: I flew from Los Angeles to FL to visit my Mom for Christmas. While packing for the return trip to CA, I realized I did not have my keys (I had parked at Wally Park, a long-term parking facility at LAX.) I assumed I had left them at LAX - would have sworn I left them in the coffee shop bathroom - so when I landed I went to lost and found and asked if anyone had turned in a set of keys about 5 days prior. They escorted me to a room, showed me a box about 3' high and said "Good luck." The entire box was full of keys. Took me 2 hours to go through the box, with no luck. I took the shuttle to Wally Park and asked the desk agent if they had an arrangement with a local locksmith - they did, but it would be $125 and a 2-hr wait. A very nice Wally Park shuttle driver was just ending his shift and offered to shuttle me home to get a spare set of keys. He took me all the way to Long Beach and back, and refused to accept any $. When I got to my car, there was a note on the windshield (dated 5 days before) telling me to see the desk agent because I had left my keys in the Wally Park shuttle.
The whole key experience took longer than my cross-country flight. Signed up for AAA the next day.
