See Geraldo Rivera was right about the concerns from people who wear hoodies. If I saw a strange guy wearing a hoodie in on my streets, I'd follow him to see what he was up to and be ready to stand my ground. Oh that's been done already. Kidding aside, I too was left with thei mpression that The Villages was a gated community. I have safety concerns because there are so many dynamics going on all at once. building/construction, vendors/contractors with employed help they probably never do background checks on, renters, people gone from their homes months at a time and many transient people create some real opportunities for the dishonest. Now throw in elderly and the false impression that people living here are all rich and you have motive. Law enforcement would do better by us to patrol neighbors rather than sit on buena vista picking up speeders.
