Our social values reflect those of 'most' people and until we choose a system of government which doesn't reflect the feelings, the beliefs and the desires of the majority, then it's not likely to change.

Let me agree with you VK...nice to agree with some calmness
My problem is the flak on this forum on this subject today...and the conversation I had with another poster along with some joyful posts praising this as wonderful for civil rights.
Just got me to thinking....why do I even care what happens...it appears that it makes no difference. I used to be a liberal.....worked hard for them in official capacities...not just a volunteer. I supported most of the Democrat party stood for and then it changed. You just had the sense that this party would support anything that would get votes whether they believed it or not. That they would "give away the store" if they stayed in power.
I left the party at that point....really was difficult to become a Republican and anyway, today got me to thinking...how things change. The Democrats now calling that on the Republicans and people believe it. That led me to thinking about all that has been done.....all the basic structures of society that have been totally destroyed with the BACKING AND SUPPORT of this party and liberal movement and I just got depressed. Thus my post....and when you see people who rejoice in this destruction of the very fiber of this country on the basis of civil rights, it really has an effect on you.
I just do not know if there is an answer. One party wants NO discipline so that you are dependent on them and that is more scary to me than a party who wants to wind back the clock a bit. I have said many times, I can vote either party.....I dont need the party to tell me what to do and perhaps I am just in a bad mood today. I am in Tampa again and had a small encounter with a few of the Occupy folks who were standing in front of the Bank of America building protesting (and standing in the walkway by the way)..then this exchange I had on here...and then the President and finding that the Dems want to take the Defense of Marriage act down...just is depressing.
