Hi BobKat,
You are right. It does sound that way... and that generalization doesn't work any better than the snowbird vs. full-timer one. DH and I are snowflakes in an established Village with mostly full-timers and mostly residents older than us. (We were both in our 50s when we bought.) We have the nicest, most helpful, pleasant and friendly neighbors anyone could ask for. They call us the younguns, but only in a friendly, complimentary way.

Mr. and Mrs. Army Guy, whom I've met, are wonderful people. I feel bad for them that they have landed in a neighborhood with a few of the relatively rare (it seems to me) Villages grumps. I hope for them that as the neighborhood matures and construction/ landscaping jobs and their associated stresses become rarer, that this too shall pass.

After all, we can't pick our neighbors, but we can pick our friends. Fortunately in TV, the abundance of friendly, happy, awesome snowbirds, snowflakes and frogs in a range of maturing ages makes having fabulous friends as easy as being one.
