I have that friend, too. It's like her 30-year-old married kids are going to die unless she solves their problem of the day. Very poor weaning! Every conversation we have is interrupted this way. It's an addiction, really.

For church I try to remember to leave the phone in the car. Most calls can wait for one hour. My phone has rung once or twice in church because I forgot to put it on vibrate. It mortifies me and I turn the power off. What I can't believe is people who are in no hurry to silence the thing if it goes off during the service......or on their job!
