E. Schwartz is in the historic portion of TV but not sure if it is only in Lake County or if it is within the limits of the Town of Lady Lake also. The police agency could have been the Lady Lake PD or the Lake County Sheriff. You need to make sure you got the right police department that handled your case when you ask "What is happening on my case the XX PD transferred to you?". Whomever wrote you from the Attorney Generals Office was also correct. The AG primarily does high level civil and criminal stuff. Their criminal work tends to be at a high level, multi-county or multi-state level like child pron, gambling, pill mills, organized fraud, etc. Individual Bad Check cases would not be their in their bailiwick. An organized ring of bad check passers might be. Also I don't think the AG has any offices in Lake County. You said you called a Lake County number. Local criminal matters are usually prosecuted by the State Attorneys Office (muck like a District Attorney in most other states). The State Attorneys Office definitely does have an office in Lake County, in Tavares, I think. The State Attorneys Office and the Attorney Generals Office are distinctly separate branches of state government. So make sure you are contacting the right prosecuting agency as well.
