Billthekid: The reason for that is because it's a way of saying that going for Romney is like going for a third term for Bush. If Bush did {pick your poison} worse than Obama, then voting for Romney would be taking a step backwards.

That's why so many Republicans keep saying "stop blaming Bush" - because the comparisons keep getting made. But they get made for a valid reason. Back in 1984 nobody was telling Reagan to stop blaming Carter - because Reagan had a very valid point that things were getting better but that not all the damage from Carter and the Democrat-dominated Capitol Hill gangs had been undone. I believe one of the slogans was "Stay The Course".
