Default Famous People

My most memorable celebrity is Eddie Feigner of "The King and His Court". He plus three other fast pitch softball players traveled all around the world playing all stars from industrial leagues and military bases. They always used four players to compete against a full 9-player team.

I was stationed in West Virginia while in the Navy in 1974 and our all star team played Eddie, his son and two other members of the "King and His Court" in Harrisonburg, VA. Although sick with food poisoning from a meal the night before, the four of them beat us 4-2. What made it memorable for me is that I got the hit that scored our two runs. I won't talk about him striking me out blindfolded from second base during another at bat.

Big supporters of the military and first responders, they were like the Harlem Globetrotters of softball. Just a thought - I bet some of the girl college players could put together a "Queen and Her Court" team that would be just as good as the King and His Court.
