Yeah door to door always gets a leary eye and mostly the cards go into the recycle bin. Its sometimes just better to go through established companies (ie lowes etc) who will back up whatever there contractors do. We had a floor debacle up north and lowes came in and had it completely redone with the initial contracter they put on the job made a mess of it. There goal was to make it right. Just be very very careful and if it just seems to good to be true...dont do it. Best way with projects is to ask the contractor who there last local projects were. Go knock on a door yourself and ask the customer how they the job went. Best way to get the skinny.
