I once left an entire cartload by my car but not because I forgot. I'd gotten a call from my daughter's school and had to leave for an emergency. I really didn't care that I had a loaded cart sitting there. Got to the school, got my daughter, discovered there was no real emergency, went back to the store and my cart had not moved an inch from where I left it sitting in the sun (over 100 that day). Of course, most of the food was spoiled.
Honestly, not sure which is worse -- having to leave the cart because of an emergency or forgetting that you had a cart full of groceries and driving away. Hope whomever left it was just distracted and not suffering from something.
