He said he has been saying for a year the economy is in trouble...then said no I have been saying this for a couple of years now....then he said I guess I have been saying this since I took office. Then went into how the partisan politics is to blame for no improvement. He very much alluded to "they" meaning the republicans and or congress are the problem.
It was obvious he is not aware how poorly a speech like that makes him look.
A leader.....even a mediocre leader....would not try to blame or excuse his way out of a failed 3 1/2 year can't get those guys to do something. What an admission....three and a half years and I could not get anything done.....I kept telling them.....I did.
An obvious politician making the same old, same old excuse. In the private sector he would have not made it one year. Talkers with no results wash out very quickly in the private sector.
I think I hear the moving trucks headed for 1600 PA Ave.

Please list all the bills the president can get passed without congress. President Obama proposed three "jobs" bills last October, and we see how far they got. It is very clear that Speaker Boehner and Senate Minority Leader McConnell have no intention of doing anything. They would rather see their constituents out of work, than pass any bill that might make the president look good. They should be tried for treason.
BTW: Speaker Boehner lead the house off to another recess next week. Their ninth recess in 2012. What other job can you have that pays $174,000 a year and gives you over nine weeks vacation in less than six months?
If congress doesn't act before the end of June, student loan rates will double. Both parties agree this should not happen, but republicans want to pay for it by cutting - what else? Women's health care. Democrats want to pay for it by raising taxes on millionaires and billionaires. So the big losers here will either be students, women, or millionaires and billionaires, while the speaker plays golf. Is this a great country or what?
