Up north we built homes in new areas that were "supposed" to be restricted (ie no outbuildings, no fences, no RV's parked in drives) but once the area was a certain age...the builder took NO responsibilities at all. Folks would abuse the restrictions knowing this so it was just like any other neighborhood.
This is the first time we've lived in an area who does have restrictions for which I'm glad. One person would put a certain sign out and another a different sign. Then it would be something else. I for one am glad there's a restriction and "they're" making it more uniform!!! There's NO conspiracy! Noone is out to "get" anyone! Just trying to make our community lovely for everyone!
As for how did we find homes? Years ago, by looking in the newspaper listings, now---on-line! One can even view homes (virtually) which is nice too.
