As a nurse, one of the most important lessons I have learned, and have shared with my students, is that we must leave whatever personal issues we are having in the parking lot, and give our patients our best. Is it always easy to do this? No......but an unhappy nurse does not provide the care that their patient deserves. I am quite sure that JLHart's "responsibility" is well aware of his/her feelings. I am also quite sure that JLHart will deny that there is any effect on their daily life. That kind of unhappiness is impossible to hide.

Perhaps this is my parking lot. Do you also teach your students not to make a diagnosis before they know the patient?
