The tornado warnings may be new to those from certain areas of the country but we from the midwest had them our whole lives. We keep a wary eye and ear on the weather but we probably don't get QUITE as worried as the folks who haven't had those warnings for years.

Everyone be safe! I agree with Gracie. We have watches and warnings in the ATL area not all that infrequently. Tornadoes are much rarer than the watches!
Remember too that a warning means that a tornado has been spotted in the area, while a watch-- as Happinow reported-- just means that conditions are conducive to the possible spawning of a tornado.
