Having moved here from Long Island almost 3 years ago I think the humidity is less. As for the heat it's here for a longer period of time then it was up north. That being said I love it. I bike early in the morning, hit the pool in the afternoon or a movie or happy hours. I wouldn't trade this for anything. There is a saying " it may get hot but I don't have to shovel it". I don't think you'll regret the summer heat or the warmer winters.
