Veronica:
I spent some 40-45 summers in St. Louis. Widely known for its heat and humidity - the British government once paid its St. Louis-based consulate staff tropical pay - I found when I came to TV that:
1] The high temperatures here usually last for a longer period, but
2] The evening humidity is lots less even before the sun goes down.
So, after a little period of adjustment, it is really much more comfortable here than it was up north!
And, in all my seven years in TV, I've only seen a couple/three 100F days, whereas there were often a half-dozen or more each year, there.
