Not to mention their accustomed lifestyle would not allow for them to think of living in a retirement community. Once again it makes me think of how truly blessed most of us are to have found this place, although I am not yet there on a full-time basis. We can enjoy a lifestyle that the wealthiest of the wealthy would have a hard time duplicating, and enjoy it with the warmth and company of thousands of people like ourselves. I suppose the wealthy jet-setter can belong to nine or ten country clubs around the world, but they can't simply get in a cart and go to any of them they choose. I suppose they can afford to see great entertainment when they like, but not as conveniently as in the squares, or as much fun methinks. I guess the moral of the story is be glad you weren't so successful and famous that you would find it difficult if not impossible, to enyoy this place.
Excellent post! I've always said, "I'd love to be rich, but would hate to be famous". Typically, I am asked, "why," with a look of incomprehension and a tone of astonishment.

I can see that you would not ask why.
