njbchbum: Thank you for the list. The supreme court in its ruling stated that the individual mandate did not fall under the commerce clause. Therefore, the Obama Team cannot compel you to purchase anything. However they do have the power to tax. In that there are also problems because how do you collect that tax and how is it reported?
One indication of the effect of ObamaCare is to recognize that following the supreme court's decision hospital stocks went up substantially.
Spending for this program is projected at 2.5 trillion. Given that federal budgets are substantially understanded it appears our children will be carrying an even heavier burden. Taxes are said to increase to $500 billion. Again a certainty that this figure is understated. It would appear that with the projected cost that the only manner to finance this disaster is by raising taxes on a continum. I mean consider the outrageous demands that will occur from those with an entitlement mentality. I would like a tummy tuck and...... And of course as creative as some greedy medical providers are they will weave a manner in which the tummy tuck is a medical necessity.
While reading all of the posts the issue of "racism" again raises its ugly head. In one way it is a good thing because we should be quite open about how we feel and along with all that disagreement will come understanding and in many cases agreement.
However, it is a bad thing when application is as a weapon to stop one's self-expression (poltical correctness). I am of Italian ancestory and yet the image of the so called "guido's" as shown on Jersey Shore, etc are enough to nauseate me. So I question that most of what people perceive as racism is really a dislike of a person's style, beliefs, etc. Live and let live is my motto
