Think of it not as "partying with lawyers", but rather, as
"butt-kissing with millionaires and billionaires".
I get these emails weekly and often daily, too, not because I'm a democrat but because they put me on the email mailing list when I sent a letter of complaint about a current policy in the news. (That was a waste of time.)
