Just a note for what it is worth...I been to Alaska four times...twice in the bush with the highest concentration of brown bears in the State (brown bear is a coastal grizzly). I was told that if you are attacked by a brown bear you should play dead. Brown bears usually stop attacking when the perceived threat is thought to be rendered neutral.
With black bears the opposite is recommended. Fight for you life!
Not that any of us will ever need this advice, but I felt I needed to mention it.
