One poster wrote, "Someone has to step up on both sides and start the healing. This all or none attitude is just plain wrong. Arbitrating for compromise is how this country became the great nation it is."

He is absolutely right. Barbara Bush (wife of Bush the First) said that the word compromise is now considered a dirty word in Washington.

This entire fiscal issue would not be at the edge of a cliff right now if both sides would compromise a little bit with each other. I know there are plenty of conservatives who feel compromise with the Obama administration should never happen. These are the people ruining the country. Both sides have to begin compromising if we are to get through the fiscal mess just ahead.
