The actual law, for those that want to read it, can be found in the Sumter County, Florida Code of Ordinances, Chapter 17 (Motor Vehicles And Traffic), Article II (Stopping, Standing And Parking), Division 1 (Sumter County Parking Ordinance), Section O-29 (Stopping, Standing Or Parking).
The short version - no on-street parking in unincorporated areas of Sumter County unless specifically authorized. Lots of short term exceptions noted (i.e. loading/unloading, meter reader, yard workers, etc.)

Actually, this is Not true. Homes in the villages are part of Sumter county and You will not get a ticket for parking in the street.Never had police or community watch stop and chat about parking. Doing this for years.
