I just bought the pliers-type snap install tool at Wholesale Marine - Boat Parts, Boat Paint, Outboard Engine Parts, Pontoon Seats, Anchors, Bimini Tops, Watersports.
I have a bunch of snaps that I have to fix on my son's boat that have frozen up due to the salt water corroding them.
Take a look at that website and see if it is something that you may need.
