Our W/D is in the garage and due to the heat we installed a screen enclosure on our garage door opening. You can get a manually operated horizontal screen slider or a motorized vertical screen enclosure. That way a garage in the summer is the same temp on the inside as it is outside, otherwise it could well be over 100 out there. As far as winter, with the door closed it might get down around 50 in your garage for a week or two in December/January, nothing to get excited about. I only wore jeans 5 days last winter.
