A fellow student in my ninth grade who was a big sci-fi fan asked the teacher if she thought we would ever have a man go the moon. Are you serious, that's 229,000 thousand miles away. There's is no chance as we could never get something that heavy to leave the earth atmosphere.
Now we land a craft on Mars. Amazing.
