The most common reason for the IT people being able to view the cameras and us users on the outside cannot is because a trust link in the server was probably not set correctly. This is a very common problem in the server / networking environment. This commonly happens when server software is upgraded and one of the hundreds of settings may have been overlaid and the trust link was broken.

A couple of years ago I was in TV and was using the rec centers for internet access via their WIFI. I could not get into the pre-owned or new home listings while using their WIFI. I passed this information onto my sales rep and said "I wonder how many sales were lost because no one can access the sales web site from the rec centers". The rep called their main IT person and had him come in so that I could explain everything to him. They then asked me to go across the square to meet with an IT person and explain things to them. That IT person listened and could not believe it. I said I can get into the site from Barns & Nobel but not the rec centers. He was going to take his lap top out during lunch and give it a try. Sure enough he had the same problem. He called me later in the day saying they found the problem as a trusted link setting was not correct. I asked him if they just updated there server software and he said yes, how did I know. It is a common missed issue that I have seen to many times to count and it takes is one setting and everything works properly.

My money is betting on the trusted link / software upgrade.

VG-just to be clear, I did not say that the Villages did not pay their camera/live streaming bill. What I said was "I was told by a local computer shop that usually that is what causes the interruption in service." They could have been wrong (and probably were) but that's what their explanation was based on past experience.
Thanks for all your input. You certainly have an extraordinary amount of insightful info for those of us on this site. I personally appreciate your responses and have gained a lot of personal knowledge by reading your posts.
And it's great to have the webcams back in operation.
