I looked at one of my history books-- J.A.S. Grenville's
A History of the World in the Twentieth Century which has a section on the failure of parliamentary democracy in Germany and the Rise of Hitler. On page 196, Grenville describes some of the various lies that brought the right-wing extremist Nazis to power through clever manipulation of nationalism, anti-Semitism, anti-Communism, and Social Darwinism.
