About 6 months ago, a neighbor 5 houses down discovered a like pile in her back yard.
While I do not know the lady that took the picture personally, I have several good friends that do know her. One actually rode with her for golf within a few days of her taking the picture. The bear was in her yard when she first looked out the window that morning, but by the time she got the camera, he had made his way down the street a few houses.
I have nothing to add about the possibility of pink elephants being seen locally.

I hate it when bear owners don't pick up after their pets. Are we allowed to put "No Pooping" signs in our yards?
