ooooh! i love the carolina beaches! make sure you bring something to use if ya hafta batten down your hatches - it is that time of year, ya know!

my avatar pic happens to be the coast of jersey - the ladder in the pic scales a wall approx 10' - 12' in height that prevents the ocean from intruding on the oceanfront homes along that area of the coast! it provides access to the 'private' beachfront of the photo. imagine owning beachfront property and not being able to see it from the first floor!
