Why are those deeply involved with the Political Forum so concerned by its current demise? I thought about it for a while. True story. Speaking from personal experience and making what could be a long story short. I have two long time friends who are of different political persuasion. One is very passionate and very much type A personality and the other passionate but "laid back." You guessed it! They got into a political discussion (fight) one day and..........anyway, they didn't associate with one another for about six months. Finally with some help from their friends and spouses they "mended the fences" but they will probably never be the same. Silly, I know, but true. Moral of the story, be very careful discussing politics with friends who are "wired" differently. It is fairly easy to built a "fence" between your friendships.
Bottom line----the Political Forum provided an "outlet" to discuss political opinions with "friends" who are just like you and some who are "wired" very differently. Instead of being upset for six months or longer, folks could jab back and got over it in a post or two IMHO. A great many of the posts were very informative. Mr./Mrs./Ms. Administrator some of your Best Posters really need you to revisit The Political Forum. "I don't like that man, I must get to know him better." Abraham Lincoln.
