For the record, the original hole was 3-4 ft. wide and about 3ft. deep. The pavement had collapased into the hole. My wife actually turned around and put a couple of bales of pine straw to keep anyone from driving into the hole. Later, the hole was filled in, sawcut to make a uniformed patch and safety cones were put around the area. This hole was either a minor sinkhole or major erosion. Kudos to my wife for being concerned enough to make sure no one would get hurt and kudos to The Villages for fixing it so promptly.
