I have always liked neutral paint colors. When I retired, I moved back home to Michigan to help with my Dad and we purchased a pre-owned home. Almost every room had a different bold, bright paint color. It wasn't something we would have done but we loved them. We were told that the owner's wife grew up in Africa as a missionary's daughter. Our living room is a dark green but the ceiling is probably 25 feet high and it looks great. They had made the 4th bedroom an office with a custom desk system and it is a bright orange. I cannot tell you how many compliments we have gotten on the paint colors. Several people have asked us for the names of the paint colors. Luckily, the previous owners left all of the paint cans!
