While still in high school I was our village gossip reporter for the local newspaper. Paid on a 'by the word' basis. I remember one town resident who knew everyone elses business - she would call me every week with updates on who traveled where, visiting relatives, special events etc. When I look back on it now I can't believe I actually did that
