I checked with my insurance co. and yes it is forfeited should I be in violation. I only pay $115.00 a year and the insurance co. said that I only have liability therefore if I cause an accident and I total my $12,000. golf cart my insurance will cover for liability but not for me or my golf cart. They explained that for that price they would be out of business if they covered bodily injuries and my cart. Now they also said that if I caused the accident and I was in speed violation my insurance would be voided as it is an off road vehicle and not to exceed 20 miles per hour therefore the other person in the accident could sue me and go after what ever I own. I asked should I not be going over the speed limit when the accident occurred how could I be in violation and he said that if my cart is set with no governor restrictions I would not be covered. He suggested that I register my cart and make it street legal but he gave me the price and it is very expensive and that is only 28 mph. I will use my car when I'm in a hurry and I will drive in accordance to the law because otherwise I am spending $115.00 a year for nothing.
