The Freshwater Fishing Club first meeting of the 2012/13 season starts at 7 PM on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Lake Miona Rec center. Doors open at 6:30. Come early and compare "fish" stories with others.
The Villages Freshwater Fishing Club schedules monthly fishing trips to various lakes in the area. The trips are pay as you go for boat/motor rental. See Steve Felix at the meeting for further information.
Some of the trips/events planned this year: Visit to the FL fish hatchery, Bass Pro Shop, and the ever popular fish fry just to name a few.
Speakers may range from touring tournament anglers both bass & specks (crappie), biologists, guides, tech reps, & resort owners.
Speaking Tuesday is bass angler Tim Frederick, sponsored by Brooker Bait & Tackle in Leesburg. Frederick led day one of the B.A.S.S. Open Bass tournament, recently held on Lake Harris, and finished a respectable 6th place. You'll hear his techniques on Florida bass angling.
