Alas, lots of fruit and veggies to the exclusion of animal protein, does not work for me.
I will continue to check on what you've said about Simpson saying the book states vegan diets can cure cancer. From portions of the book that I have read online, it seems that the book implies that this may be the case. I'm sure if I've interpreted this incorrectly, you'll be kind enough to correct me.
Actually, I just presented Dr. Simpson's website as an opposing view to veganism. There are many others who feel an all plant based diet isn't the best for mankind.
We all have matters, events, situations we feel strongly about. I don't really know you, VPL, can only get some of your personality from what and how you write here. Doing what you feel will help keep you free from certain conditions, is important to you and the vegan diet appears to be how you are going about achieving this. Hopefully it will work well for you and you will continue to live with the excellent health you now seem to be experiencing. Many of us recognize the importance of a good diet, but feel there are other diets more suitable for how we want to live. Everyday new research unlocks some of the mystery of what Man is and how Man works...it's really kind of neat. Hopefully one day there will be a definitive answer to why certain diseases plague us, why certain genes causing deformities, illness, turn on in some situations.
In the meantime, we all do what we think is best for us. I wish you health and happiness....

Thank you. I wish you the same.
I'm one of the few who can choose to eat a vegan diet or Paleo diet and be able to enjoy myself either way. I've actually tried a few different diets. I don't know why I'm able to be so flexible with my diet but I just am. And so I have chosen the diet that I believe has the least risk for cancer and all other degenerative diseases.
As I have said before, there are no guarantees. I'm only 71 so it's too soon to tell if I'll be able to avoid prostate cancer. My brother and father both got diagnosed at around age 79. If I can get past that age without incident, I'll be looking forward to many more years.
