What the land owners probably don't realize is that The Villages will only be interested in buying their property at a price that makes sense for their development plan.

The ratio of recreation facilities, golf courses and government buildings to housing units is pretty consistent throughout TV. The amount that the Developer can afford to pay for land and still sell housing units of the same quality, at the same density, and pretty much in the same price range as the rest of The Villages pretty much dictates what they will be able to pay for land.

If the current owners think they can hold out and get more, they'll probably own their land for a long, long time.
