I have 4. Two in back and two in front. Did them in 1995 so they are now 17 years old. Back then there were not many dentists doing them and I had started researching them in 1982. Was told then my jaw bone was to thin and they would not work. Tried again in 1984, 1986, 1990 and finally in 1995 was told it was no problem. Back then it still took a year from start to finish. Now I think they can be done much quicker. I agree with above posters, keep as many of the original as possible. Mine were lost as the result of an accident. After having a partial for the front two for 30 years and now the implants, I would do them again and highly recommend them as the best available option for missing teeth. Expensive yes, worth it also yes. Find a dentist who specializes in implants. Someone who does nothing else would be my suggestion. And someone who has been doing them for a minimum of 10 years.
