If you have to pay for your own, I highly recommend GAF ELK Timberline Cool Series Shingles, it made a big difference during our countless high 90 to 100 degree days this summer here up north. They withstand up to 130 mph winds. We had them installed 2 years ago. We bought the additional warranty which they will come, and replace them labor, and materials included included for 50 years, warranty transferrable.
I paid an additional $600.00 for the Golden Warranty.
