Tal. They are vicious litlle b*******, I mean bugs. If one stings you they yell for the rest to attack and they have to be SCRAPED off. I got the itchy, hurty, reaction that developed into pustules that they urge you
not to open. I was weeding and digging out Zoysia and a group of them thought I belonged to the other political party and ten or eleven of them piled on. My hand hurt for seven whole days. I used hydrocortozone and an effective non itch thing I got at the drug store called Sarna.
I feel for you! I will be wearing gloves and using a poking stick to pull back mulch from now on.
Joaniesmom. We have lived here for five years and I had just the one episode with them. Avoid the obvious mounds. Have your pest guy come when you see ant hills. They are very obvious. Don't let your pooches dig.
