[QUOTE=Dr Winston O Boogie jr;561576]I don't which square is bigger or draws the most people, but I do know that on nine out of ten nights the "entertainment" is awful. I am so sick and tired of seeing a girl or a couple of people singing to pre-recorded tracks. Some of these people can't even sing.
One of the reasons I moved here was because there is supposed to be "live" entertainment every night. I don't consider karaoke singers to be "live" entertainment. A girl singing to recored tracks with one guy strumming a guitar is not a band.
Then some of the real bands are very accomplished and tight, they tend to be very boring and play the same songs over and over. I like country music, but I am getting really sick of it.
Whoever is hiring the entertainment needs to get some different kinds of bands in here. And please hire bands. No one with pre-recored tracks.
I agree with you Doc. Have you listened to Uncle Bob's Rock Shop? If not check out their website and playlist @

I think they are very talented vocalists and musicans, and they play alot of my favorite classic rock tunes.
The music at the squares will hopefully change for the better in the near future with the addition of Brownwood. Or maybe not if the new band pool doesn't grow with the additional needs of three squares.
The later "baby boomers" moving into the newer southern villages will have a need for moving from the 50's music (not that there's anything wrong with it ) to more music of the 60's and early 70's we grew up enjoying.
Seems like more and more musicans are retiring to TV, so maybe there's hope.
BTW which bands are your favorites at the squares?
I don't think I could take Rocky and The Rollers "eight days a week" . Hope you get your act together and give us another band soon.
